Anti-depressants, anti-histamines and many other drugs cause dry mouth, a risk factor for cavities.  Drink lots of water.  Some people like Biotene products as well.

A tip from a hygienist: Keep a dish of baking soda on the counter.  After applying toothpaste, dip your toothbrush in the baking soda.  Your gums will thank you.

Make sure you clean your power toothbrushes inside and out; otherwise they'll start to smell funny.

Put an egg timer on the bathroom sink to make sure you or your kids brush the full three minutes.

Use a tongue cleaner to clear your tongue; they're much more thorough than toothbrushes.

Diet colas are sugarless, but still acidic.  They stain worse than coffee or tea because the acid increases the staining power.

See-saw the floss through until is snaps through, then slide up and down each tooth, forming a C shape.  Much less painful and more thorough than snapping it straight down.

When brushing the outsides of your back teeth, biting down creates more room so you can get the area cleaner.

Teeth stain easier while using whitening products.  Avoid dark colored beverages and foods, or you could wind up less white than you started.

Use Listerine (we like Vanilla mint) after brushing, flossing and tongue cleaning.  Your mouth will feel better, and I, for one, fall asleep faster :)
