Christmas Mission in Mexico Print E-mail
Written by Vu Le, DDS

cute_boy_giftWe've just returned from another successful trip to Independencia on December 2nd.  Thanks to everyone who put aside time, money and sleep to help out.  With a little hard work, we were able to give away over $13,000 in free dentistry to at least 50 people.  The on-site medical, optometry and pharmacy clinics had even more success.  If you read on, I've prepared a slide show of the trip.

The highlight of this trip is dropping off the Operation Christmas Child boxes to the local children.  We were helped greatly by dentists James Kahal of Laguna Hills, Brad Bockhurst of Nobel Biocare, and our future neighbor, oral surgeon Stephen Vaughan.  We worked alongside four very appreciated hygienists (Ellen, Lyn, Kimmie and Jennie) and an awesome crew headed by Rich Kofron of Sullivan Shein.

As you can see by from the video, you don't have to be a health care professional to be needed and useful on these regular trips.  Kids and families are welcome and encouraged.  We need friendly, energetic people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds to come help us.  If you would like to volunteer for our future trips (the next one is in March), please email Latrice:  ljsrn (at) roadrunner.net
